Carrara — A Modern Tribute to Italian Stonecraft
Carrara is a sculpted marble tray designed as an ode to Italy’s rich material heritage. Created during my time in Florence and inspired by visit to the Carrara quarries, this piece reflects a fusion of tradition and modernity—where ancient stone meets contemporary form. The tray’s softened geometry, carved from a solid block of white marble, creates a quiet contrast between weight and elegance. A deep, recessed interior offers a purposeful space to hold daily treasures, while its pillowed edges and seamless silhouette express restraint and refinement. Whether placed on a desk, dresser, or countertop, Carrara transforms storage into a moment of appreciation—celebrating both the object and the material that holds it.
